I hosted my wedding welcome cocktails event at the beautiful Majestic Elegance and decided to hire WBA, the resort's preferred vendor. I found their option more appealing since choosing my own photographer would have come with a hefty $1,500 vendor fee, which felt excessive. Being a wedding photographer myself, I wanted to ensure I made the best selection, so I requested to see the portfolios of the photographers available for my event. After reviewing the options, I ultimately went with one of the two provided. I made sure to send a shot list and a timeline of events to my contact at WBA. The photographer was really nice and came equipped with lighting gear, mostly using a wide lens for his shots. However, I noticed there weren’t many photos that captured the moments up close. While the editing was about 80% consistent in color tones, with mostly warm tones, there were some that felt a bit too cool or overexposed. I also noticed a few images where people were blinking! During the speeches, the photographer stayed in one corner and didn’t move around much to capture the genuine emotions and different perspectives, which was a bit of a letdown. I had requested group shots, but I ended up doing the group photos roll call myself! When I got the photos back, I was surprised to find I could only select 60 images out of around 300. As a photographer, I usually provide all the best photos to my clients, so this caught me off guard. When I accessed the gallery, I could only find 45 favorites among them, as many didn’t truly capture the special moments. I paid $600 for 1.5 hours of photography and received only 45 usable images. While I did love some of the posed couples' portraits with my husband in the hotel lobby, I felt the editing could have been better. The team didn’t crop, straighten, or remove distractions, which I know is quite easy to do in Lightroom. If you decide to go with WBA, it can be a great choice for cost savings and convenience! But keep in mind to prepare a shot list for them to ensure your photographer knows exactly what you're looking for. It can also help to make a list of group shots with your family, breaking them into smaller groups. Don’t forget to ask the photographer to capture those lovely candid moments of dancing, laughter, and tears! Also, if you’re having a rehearsal event like we did, it’s a great idea to request a mini portrait session as well! Best of luck!
My wedding photos are ruined. We booked after specifically choosing a photographer based on his sample work. We were promised he would be photographing our wedding. When we arrived for our wedding ceremony there was a photographer there. Since we only knew his work and not his face we did not know it wasn’t him. At the end of the shoot and our wedding he shared he was a 19 yr old kid and new to photography. He was NOT who we hired!!!! We got our photos that we paid for 2 months later and they are absolutely useless and awful. We wouldn’t even consider printing one. They are not crisp or professional. They are not touched up. They look like a 10yr old with an older iPhone took them. Terrible unflattering angles and pointless nonsense shots of nothing. We weren’t even smiling in most of what he took. BEWARE!!! Don’t waste your money.
I purchased some gifts from WBA collection store in Majestic Colonial. The two sales lady were so rude and no smiles. We asked one of of the sales to wrapped the items so it won't break during our trip. Then we ask for a small tape for the wrapped , but she said no. I asked why, she just say we can't have it. That was a very rude attitude. Never buy from this place again. The product are nice but the attitude of the sales persons are bad They need to train them. Found out the price was overly pricey, we bought more stuff in duty free shop at the airport for less price.
Very rude sales person, need more training, they also not smiling. Too expensive, cheaper to buy in the Airport. This stores located in majestic colonial hotel
We were in the store looking at merchandise to purchase and the store rep constantly followed us around. Why? I asked her does she follow all of her customers around...she just looked at us and was STILL on our backs. I turn around and she was standing their 1 foot away. There were several people in the store, they were all caucasian...why didn’t she follow them around? All in all, we left, without purchasing anything because I felt profiled and very uncomfortable! I also told her I felt uncomfortable, she continued to stand near me and my sister. I will NOT patronize this disgusting establishment again. I’m standing right here outside of the establishment writing this review. Don’t you Dominicans know that you all are of African descent as well? Just crazy!
