🚨Warning: you will get pooped on 💩 This experience was absolutely amazing. If youre visiting Punta Cana this excursion is a *must*. Do you want an onslaught of tiny monkeys jumping all over you? Then this is 100% the adventure for you. Something that I really liked about this excursion was that we also got to see the cacao pods and how they were farmed and manufactured. The groups that they allow to enter the enclosure at one time are super reasonable, so you feel like you get the attention you need. Do not pay for the photos at the excursion, you will get a lot of chances to take your own photos with your camera. The cameraman could use some more training.... you will get a chance to preview your photos first and you can select which one you like (if you think they captured something remarkable).
Soooo fun. Especially for kids. Even my teen loved it 😉. You get few chances to feed monkeys and take your own pictures. They also have a photographer on site so if you enjoy yourself too much and don't make pics, you still can buy them later. No pressure though in buying any. If your kids like animals this is definitely for you.
Monkeyland is a very beautiful and sprawling property. If you can, try booking/planning a visit directly through Monkeyland if possible. We were there last week but booked our excursion through Trip Advisor. While our excursion wasn't exactly what was advertised, our time at Monkeyland and with the squirrel monkeys was enjoyable. If you like monkeys and want a chance to interact with and feed them, you must visit Monkeyland. My only issue is that I wish we had more time to interact with the monkeys. For the amount of money that it costs, it would be nice to have more than 15 minutes or so with the monkeys. Unfortunately after our (fairly large) group fed the monkeys and the photographer took photos, we were quickly escorted back out. Heck, I don't have to feed them the entire time; I would have been happy to just watch them run around and play with each other. All in all, it was something I never got to experience before which was pretty cool. One last thing, if you plan to visit; I wouldn't recommend wearing a white shirt and/or nice clothes because they are monkeys after all and they do not wear diapers if you catch my drift.
Just book it! You will NOT be disappointed! The monkeys are adorable and their small soft paws are so cute! They could pee on you 😉 so dont wear something you love...they will also jump on top of your head! The tour guides are great and very knowledgeable. Wear closed toe shoes because you do walk down some steep parts of the path. You get to try and buy local coffee, hot chocolate and mamajuana as well!
Amazing experience!!! The staff is friendly, and pays attention to your needs, and without saying a word, they make all necessary changes on the go. The monkeys are a fun bunch, and if you have kids, I cannot recommend this tour strongly enough. The whole experience was great!!! You are allowed to take your photo and video, and if you don't have a camera, or do not want to use yours, a photographer will take your photos. The prices for the photo package is very reasonable (not like at local dolphin encounter, where they overcharge you for pictures, and should be reported to the local prosecutors). The photos are great memories for many years to come. P.S. the monkeys have such soft paws, i would have neve guessed this. 🤣
