Cool traditional experience, but very cramped, chaotic and unsanitary. I wasn't expecting any vehicle traffic and got hit by a moped, thankfully the guy was driving slow and appologized. My mom nearly vomited when we entered the meat section as the smell was so bad. It was cool and interesting to visit, but as a foreigner, I would never eat anything that came from this market. Our guide ended up serving us some fruits he bought there and needless to say, we passed on them I wouldn't recommend coming here without a guide.
It's so authentic and safe to walk through and you can bargain and buy at good price and sellers always very respectful
Such an amazing place, full of culture! People are super friendly and can find food, items that you will never find anywhere else - a must visit
Dominican market unfiltered - fresh meat, foul smell, herbs and vegetables... Not recommended for solo excursions. Go with your tour guide to learn about daily life of Dominicans
For being a public market, it could better. But if you're looking a place to get to know local people, and their way of living, it's recommended.
