CHECK YOUR BILL CAREFULLY BEFORE PAYING. As a Dominican, this was a very disappointing experience. It genuinely felt like a tourist trap, and I would not recommend it. We ordered just two appetizers and one main course, yet the final bill came out to about $100 USD. When we added up the menu prices ourselves, the total did not match what we were charged. There was no clear breakdown or explanation provided for the difference. Transparency in pricing is extremely important, especially in a country that depends heavily on tourism. Visitors and locals alike work hard for their money and deserve honest, straightforward billing. When the final check is significantly higher than expected without clear communication, it creates distrust and overshadows the entire dining experience. The atmosphere and location may attract tourists, but that makes it even more important to operate with integrity and clear pricing. Situations like this can impact how travelers view not just one restaurant, but the destination overall. I strongly recommend that anyone dining here carefully review their bill before paying and ask questions if something doesn’t add up. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves transparency so future customers don’t leave feeling the same way. Also noticed that whoever is in charge of replying is very prideful of the tourist trap. Please read other reviews and comments. You see right through them.

An amazing place for top-level seafood, paired with the next door grill and Wine place makes it to the top 5 choices in the area easily. It provides a paid transport option so you can easily book a table and transport with one whatsapp mesaage! They have special arrangements for special occasions and a great wine selection (missing only Portuguese wine from the great wine producing regions available). Lobster is the special and is totally worth it if you are willing to give the extra bucks.

I had the rib eye and it was awful .. It was greasy almost as if it was cooked in oil .. They claim to use prime cuts but it was old cow at best tough and greasy.. Which was a real shame .. I should have spoken up right away but finished the greasy mess and had a stomach ache for the next day.. There is a few good steak houses in Dominican this is definitely not one of them and at the price you pay this should be top notch.. I was extremely disappointed and will not be back except maybe for drinks .. The service was second to none but that was the nastiest steak I ever ate and complete disappointment ..

Decided to venture off from resort food and try something around the area. Service and food were amazing. I had Lobster and my wife had grilled fish (whole fish). Food was on point. Our server Richy was very attentive and pleasant. Lots of sitting outside and lots of wine. Lol. Would go back.

A Culinary Gem with Outstanding Service! Herman 311 Bar & Restaurant completely blew me away! From the moment we walked in, we were treated like VIPs thanks to the incredible service from Angelo and Ruth. They were attentive, personable, and made the entire experience feel warm and memorable. Now, let’s talk about the food, wow! The grilled octopus was perfectly charred, tender, and bursting with flavor. I’ve had octopus in a lot of places, but this one easily takes the top spot. The paella? Absolute perfection. Rich, aromatic, and packed with seafood, each bite was better than the last. And believe it or not, the chicken Caesar salad might’ve stolen the show. It was hands-down the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly grilled chicken, crisp romaine, just the right amount of dressing, and those house made croutons were next level. Whether you’re local or just passing through, Herman 311 is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back — and asking for Angelo and Ruth by name!
