My husband and I recently stayed at Grand Palladium Punta Cana Resort & Spa to celebrate our 3-year anniversary, and unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. When we first arrived, the room looked like it had not been properly cleaned. It smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and honestly looked like it had just been used for partying or smoking. The staff moved us to different rooms, but we ended up changing rooms three times before the manager finally upgraded us to a better room for free, which we did appreciate. Another issue we experienced was with the food. The buffet food was cold every day, and unfortunately we would not recommend eating at the buffet. However, we did visit two of the restaurants during our stay and those were great. The food there was hot, fresh, and the environment was very nice. Those restaurants were definitely a much better experience. The biggest problem happened when our room became filled with ants everywhere. It was very uncomfortable. We called customer service and they responded immediately, which we appreciated. They changed the bedding and removed items from the room, but unfortunately they did not move us to another room. We also noticed there were very few daily activities for guests, which made the resort feel very boring during the day. One person who truly stood out was Carlos from customer service. Carlos, we really appreciate you. You are a very awesome person and you were very attentive to our concerns. Thank you for helping us and please keep up the great work. Overall, this was not the anniversary experience we expected. Based on our stay, I would rate this resort a 3 out of 10, and unfortunately I would not recommend it.
We stayed at the Grand Palladium Punta Cana Resort for ten days. Our room was the loft room and it was very comfortable. We were in building seventy two, and it was very central to the pool and restaurants. I was thankful for the room placement as the resort is very large. We felt like family when we arrived. We quickly made friends at the kids club and the bars and restaurants. My kids (10 & 8) were treated like celebrities and that made them feel very special. Raldy and Adrian really connected with us, and made our stay that much better!! We did parasailing and enjoyed that very much. The nightly entertainment was very good, geared towards adults however. Staying at the punta cana, we had a choice of three pools, which we loved. You do have to get out there early to get a seat. There was entertainment most afternoons as well. The cabernet entertainers would come out and put on a click show. I loved eating out on the beach at la uva. The beach was absolutely gorgeous and plenty of seating. The kids enjoyed the kid's club. There was video games which the kids loved. A few downsides... it was a little hard to find things that we liked to eat, admittedly we are a tad picky. But generally could find something. The vendors were very pushy, which i didnt enjoy. The air conditioning was not chilly enough for us unfortunately. There are definitely a lot of bugs, so bring bug spray. Muchas Gracias to our friends: Kids club- Ana & Clara, Cristy Restaurants/Bars - Santa, Raldy, Bimi, Adrian, Breidy, Anthonella Check in - Julio and Elvis
You can definitely tell at one point this hotel was the best of the best. But it for sure could use some updating. Because there were visible signs of wear and tear. I wish the rooms were on the beach but thats just a personal preference. Room - love suit it was nice to have a big loft size room, but the shower /tub functionality isn’t ideal. The bed was comfy but again it needs to be updated it gives 2010 vibes. Check in / service - We had no issues, everyone was really nice and helpful Location - very close to the popular clubs (3 min drive) .. Food - its about what you would expect at any all inclusive, but to book one of the restaurants is almost impossible because you cant book in the app. They want you to wake up at 9am go to guest services and make reservations which is not ideal. We didnt get to eat at any of them we just went to the buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bar by the beach / pool - the plumbing in there might be the problem the smell was awfulllll like mildew and sitting water. Overall I would give it a 7/10 nothing terrible but nothing spectacular. I wouldnt go back unless the issues stated above were fixed.
Overall I had a great experience and stay here. Room was nice, comfortable, air conditioned with a nice big fan over the bed. Mini fridge stocked daily. Most of the staff was very friendly. Buffet was alright, however got pretty sick on my last day after eating dinner. Only thing that was a little disappointing was their 'travel club pitch' to sell you their membership. Right away they have a guy scoop you up at the lobby. Give you very limited information. Just saying 'information, information' which I thought was gonna be a tour of the resort to show you around. They bring you to their 'V.I.P' building/ area and have an associate take you around (she was very nice) and show you suites you could upgrade to and other club perks. Then at the very end they tell you the price structure. 30 trips for like USD $50,000+ something grand (30% upfront deposit). Just would've been nice to be told upfront the price structure, not 2 hours after. Thats the only thing that left a sour taste.
Absolutely beautiful place the buffet is pretty good especially in thought of so many different cultures. The restaurant's on the resort are awesomely delicious. The staff were some of the Best I had the pleasure to deal with. Felix and Gerson the bartenders at the pool were the best. Cameron was a great server with a smile. Cesar went above and beyond to make our week long vacation one of the best we've been on. Will definitely be returning to Palladium again soon. Ps. The Casino needs some upgrades.
