Excellent experience. The seafood platter was truly impressive, very generous and with plenty of lobster, which really makes a difference. There were 4 of us and we ate perfectly, there was even some left over. The quality of the seafood and the quantity make the price absolutely worth it. Special thanks to Rony for the amazing service — professional, friendly and very attentive the whole time. In fact, we came back to the restaurant because of him. Also congratulations to Chef Lubin for preparing such an incredible seafood platter. Definitely a place we will return to.
We came here because the reviews were good and my boyfriend wanted a ribeye. We were seated right away, but the food was terrible. He ordered the ribeye medium (almost 45 CAD). It first came out very well done. We sent it back, and the second time it came back completely rare. At that point he couldn’t eat it, so we took it home and cooked it for breakfast next morning. I ordered the Cajun chicken Caesar and the chicken was extremely dry and very salty—almost inedible. For the price, you can find much better food in the same neighborhood.
Lovely for breakfast, but no tea is served unfortunately, so tea lovers go elsewhere 🤣 Dominican breakfast doesn’t include plantain, which is usually part of the breakfast. There’s room for little improvement, but overall really good place. Shout out to Rony during our visit, and thanks to Liliana for the two times we saw her too. Prices are a little high in a few places in this area. **update** Hi Michael! I was not made aware of the herbal tea infusions at all during the visits, as was told no tea served🤦🏾♀️. That’s good to know though😊. I’m changing my review due to our dinner visit and last breakfast visit, and the Paella for two with the half lobster on top… each, was soooooo delicious 😋! For the price, you can’t wrong. Paella for two was DOP2800… I think 🤔 total, so great for the price!!!
Absolutely loved the personality of my server Jowain and he was very attentive and bilingual. I ordered the lobster bisque and was surprised to get an actual piece of lobster in it. I also ordered the Asian sesame shrimp but would have preferred the dressing on the side and more vegetables as it was mostly lettuce and a few shrimp. The gumbo was great and ordered two coco loco drinks. I would come back again.
We went here almost every day of our trip. When other restaurants disappointed us we found ourselves back at Castaway! The snapper dinner 10/10 would recommend. The Miami vice drink and espresso martini was always made perfect! Staff was friendly and always inviting. Food was always made fresh. The environment was always clean and charming! Great place if you’re looking for good food and vibes. The 3lbs snapper we had on our last day and if you are in a group I would suggest that.
